I’ve worked with night images since taking a summer program at Skidmore College in the 1960’s and have returned periodically to the singular low lighting found between dusk and dawn. While nighttime is very active in the natural world, human perception changes and the camera records slowly. The process of taking these images differs from painting in that it’s less direct, can’t be hurried, are simultaneously unnerving and fascinating.
